Would you like a tutor?

Literacy Council of the Palouse About Support Us Enroll Volunteer Contact

Your education, your way...

When you get a tutor with the Literacy Council of the Palouse (LCP), you are in control of your studies.

  • You will be matched with a tutor that compliments your educational goals and personality.
  • You and your tutor will set a tutoring schedule that fits with your life.
  • You and your tutor will choose the time and location to meet.
  • You will develop your own goals and timeline according to your needs.

How it works

Once you have decided that you would like a tutor:

  1. Get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator 208-883-2626 or adult_literacy@moscow.com
  2. Discuss what you would like in a tutor and what you hope to get out of having a tutor.
  3. Attend an initial meeting with both the Volunteer Coordinator and the new tutor. This usually takes about 1/2 hour for introductions and schedule planning.
  4. Meet once a week (typically for one hour) with your tutor.
  5. Keep in touch with the Volunteer Coordinator as to how you are doing, any questions you may have and any additional materials you may need.
